Musicians’ Movement Wellness Webinar 1: Connections with lower body: stability and uplift

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED NOW. You can still register for the companion webinar on Oct 18: Connections with upper body: expansion and mobility.

This event is 4:00 pm EASTERN TIME (3:00 pm Central, 2:00 pm Mountain, 1:00 pm Pacific).

Engage your whole body in two fun, informative, and practical two-hour webinars (or take either one alone) led by Susan Wilkes, CMP.

Musicians’ Movement Wellness Webinar 1: Connections with lower body: stability and uplift

Overview and practices relating to balance, stability, and refined movements in the lower body as musicians. Root connections of feet, ankles, knees, and pelvis have profound effects on the way we are grounded and centered as well as how we are enabled for freedom of movement in the spine.

The companion webinar, Connections with upper body: expansion and mobility, takes place the following Sunday. These webinars are designed to function alone or in combination. Taken together, the two will offer complete movement tools for musicians to enable ease in providing therapeutic music for patients.

You will receive required pre-reading materials and charts to enhance understanding of the webinars, allowing for deeper clarity and practice. Have your instrument ready to explore the principles taught and their relevance to your musicianship.

Each webinar lasts two hours via the videoconference platform Zoom. (See instructions for using Zoom.)

Open to anyone: CMPs, MHTP students, other therapeutic musicians and students, and all other musicians. CMPs earn 3 continuing education units (CEUs) per webinar.

Susan Wilkes completed a Masters in Health Arts and Sciences at Goddard College. Susan is a licensed practitioner in Bodymap, a certified Yoga and Children’s Yoga Instructor, and flautist. As a CMP with MHTP, she plays for hospital patients at Concord Hospital. She is also a certified health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

  2. I must participate in the webinar discussion.

  3. I will set up a free Zoom account for the webinar (Facilitator will send instructions).

  4. I will review the pre-reading materials before the webinar.
