online store MHTP e-List — Music For Healing & Transition Program

Groups.io

Do you have a question about memorizing music, using traditional paper vs. switching to music on an iPad? Do you want to share a story about playing for a patient (following HIPAA guidelines, of course)? Do you need advice on the best ways to transport your instrument(s) from room to room?

The MHTP e-list on Groups.io ➚ has about 100 messages each month on these topics and many more. This e-list (a.k.a., bulletin board, message board, digest, list-serve) is for MHTP students and graduates with daily messages posted by CMPs, students, and staff.

The MHTP e-list is restricted to MHTP students, graduates, and staff.
Subscription requests require manual approval, which can take up to one business day.

Using the MHTP Groups.io E-list

The following rules and suggestions enhance the experience of being part of the e-list community.

The list is monitored, and a polite reminder will be sent to posters who repeatedly forget to abide by the rules below. Anyone ignoring such reminders may be removed from the list by the monitor.

If you have concerns, ideas, or suggestions about MHTP curriculum, policies, procedures, or staff, do not post them to this group. Past experience has shown all of us that these situations are addressed much faster and more positively via the proper channels:

  • If you are a student, please communicate concerns to your advisor.

  • If you are a CMP, please contact the CEO ✉.

To unsubscribe, contact mhtp+unsubscribe@groups.io ✉. But if you would like to maintain access to the messages, you just don’t want to receive them via email anymore, consider changing your subscription status to “No mail.” See the picture below.

Rules

Please keep your messages specifically MHTP- and therapeutic-music-related, as the list is intended for MHTP students and graduates.

Off-topic posts detract from the intended purpose of this list.

Do not post:

  • Virus warnings or spam to the list.

  • Messages of an administrative nature (subscribe/unsubscribe requests, problems you're experiencing in receiving mail, questions about how the list is run, etc.). Please direct administrative questions to the list moderator ✉.

  • Requests asking for charity.

  • Personal topics, such as those that are sexual in nature.

  • Messages which promote your religious views.

  • Chain type messages.

Do not post excessively.

Rude or insulting messages to other list members or to the list monitor (on- or off-line) will not be tolerated. You can disagree with someone or be angry with them and still remain respectful. All private email to list members should be courteous as well.

Respect list members’ privacy and confidentiality. Do not use their email address for further solicitations unrelated to the list.

E-list good use suggestions

1. You can edit your e-list options (digest, single messages, etc.) by clicking “Subscription” in the navigation. You can even turn off the receipt of emails and read the messages via the website instead:

You can control how you receive emails, or you can opt not to receive emails at all.

You can control how you receive emails, or you can opt not to receive emails at all.

2. You may post attachments, photos, or links to articles or websites that are appropriate to the purpose and rules of this group.

3. News about your upcoming therapeutic music concerts/gigs and about your therapeutic music products/services is welcome on the list only if they are 50 words or less and occur no more than once a month. Post a URL or other contact information so that list members can contact you individually for more information. More frequent announcements (advertising) is not welcome, and repeat violators of this rule may be banned from the list. The list is not intended to be an advertising forum, but we do welcome information about up-coming therapeutic music workshops, continuing education, conferences, CMP music and CDs. If in doubt, please check with the list moderator ✉.

4. Please watch that posts do not include the entire messages or even worse, the entire digest. When it happens, some folks are not able to receive their digests because the length of the double digest then exceeds their message size limit. When you reply to the digest, it's very easy to have this happen. If you are a digest subscriber, be certain you edit out the digest, or start with a new message.

5. When responding to a post, consider sending a PRIVATE message to the poster. Ask yourself if your response contains information/ideas/thoughts of interest to the list at large. If your response is only significant to a very few people, please consider sending privately to just those people. We hope that you enjoy being part of this community.
